The “30yearsold” project, realized by the collaboration of three institutions: the Italian Institute of Culture, the University of Arts and the Contemporary Art Platform, was concluded with a final exhibition (with the same title) of the project’s mastermind Eugenio Tibaldi, and his associates, some of the young Albanian artists. The exhibition will remain open at the FAB gallery premises from the 11th – 25th of March 2019. The curatorial writing of the exhibition was  composed by Valentina Bonizzi.

The young participating artists: Ardit Boriçi, Aulon Naçi, Bibi Frrokaj, Bleona Hafesllari, Egi Pipero, Ergys Vela, Gentjana Manuka, Mirjana Mecaj and Tamara Kurti are those who responded to the artist’s invitation to interact step by step, starting with the research made in the alleyways of the capital, Tirana, in the elaboration of ideas, to further continue with the respective creations until the conclusion of the project through the exhibition.

The central part of the FAB gallery exhibits the works from the author of the  project. His artistic imagination goes beyond the loyal presentation of what he has seen in Tirana during 2018-2019, reflecting it through his stance, through his own experience of reality, the course that life’s organization has taken  throughout the last  30 years. The changes mainly in the architectural and social domain, areas that are quite evident, are the result of the combination of all possible interaction fields necessary for the performance of a society.

Both side sections of the FAB gallery exhibit works by the young artists, these works  come in the form of installation, sound, video and photography. Almost all works  give the impression of a changing country. Generally, the human element  is absent in the artwork in the gallery. The special works where man is involved are in themselves a combination of techniques and time also.

Classified by the author himself  (A. Naçi) as the order of chaos, the music (composed by him) accompanies the works in the exhibition. The works address time relation between the past and the present with the hope for change – installation (B. Hafesllari, G. Manuka), as well as the connection to the sacred trinity -installation with construction materials (E. Vela). The weakness of man infront of the political system is shown parallel, through  an unusual point of view (T. Kurti),  with delicate items that are not related to the Albanian culture. The change in the social mentality, followed by changes in architecture, results in a discovery for the artist (E. Pipero), a discovery which he artistically reflects through surfaces of Tirana s changing stages. And in all this change, a place of great importance for further development is  common memory – video (M. Meçaj).

Concern over the political and social transition of Albania, with obvious consequences in the life of its citizens, comes through an installation (B. Frrokaj) (reticulation of items) that stands above the head of the visitors. Therefore, today’s reality in Tirana and not only is attributed to everyone for the role everybody plays in society.  Artistically reflecting the entire 30-years of Albanian social movement from many viewpoints remains the project’s intentional purpose.
