The exhibition “30YEARSOLD”, conceptualized by Italian artist Eugenio Tibaldi, opens on March 11th 2019, at 18:00, at FAB Gallery, Tirana and will remain open until March 25th 2019. The project is based on the 30-year history of Albania (1989-2019) and takes life from the co-operation with several young Albanian artists.

After an open call to artists from all fields of art. The selection of participating artists was made by the artist himself, he shared with them his professional experience, giving importance to the progress of a joint activity creation, to reach the important conclusion: the interaction between artists and institutions to turn public space into a place where each of us can create our own critical impression for these years of change.

The exhibition comes mainly as a result of the confrontation and “dialogue” between Eugenio Tibaldi and the public space in Tirana, facing the changes and transformations of the city of Tirana before and after the 1990s The event began by wandering around certain areas of the city – where the little alleys and muddy homes, now almost forgotten, have been replaced by high rise buildings – in search of aesthetic traces that are able to demonstrate change and development in time. Comparing of events and finding shapes that the city has created, were the inspiration for creating the works of each of the participating artists. Sketches, footage, videos, creative ideas were slowly transformed from single works into a complex creation that would represent the city of Tirana.

This experience is worth not only for the several months of cooperation but also for the way it concludes. The event is mostly distinguished for its educational feature: guiding a group of young artists all the way, from the observation of the public space, the acquisition of creative ideas to be followed by the final phase a joint exhibition. Elaborating art in such an interactive way, aims to make the contemporary art visible and important to share with society and public space.

The project is conceived by Eugenio Tibaldi and made possible by Harabel Contemporary Art in collaboration with Italian Institute of Culture and the University of Arts.
