Talk / Marta Bianchi and Martina Angelotti (Careof Milano) / HARABEL Contemporary Art / April 20th 2018

HARABEL Contemporary Art hosted on Friday, April 20th 2018, at its premises in Tirana, an open talk for artists, curators and art historians, focusing the discussion on the aim and the value of a digital and a physical contemporary art archive.

Marta Bianchi and Martina Angelotti, respectively the President and the Artistic Director of Careof Milano presented the work of Careof, a Contemporary Art Platform based in Italy, and founded in 1987 by Mario Gorni.

Careof comprises in its digital and physical archive images of art works (photography, videos) by artists that have lived and produced in Italy as well as a physical and online library, which contains books and the documentation of art works of a large number of Italian artists.

Similar to Careof, HARABEL’s archive is a work in progress that focuses on the contemporary art works made in Albania. Furthermore, the digital archive that is accessible online aims to present the contemporary visual art in Albania (from 1991 onwards) as well as the art works produced by foreign artists in Albania.

The archive is the starting point of a long process that this platform will undertake to support the documentation of Albanian contemporary art history; therefore becoming an activator for the safeguarding of the collective memory in Albania.

Marta Bianchi and Martina Angelotti explained how and why Careof was born; they showed ways to access the archive online; while the speakers also described the methods that researchers, art students and others, can use to work with the archive. 

Some of the issues discussed by the artists attending the talk included the following: the way the archiving organization solicits images from artists who would like to include their works in the archive and the way the organization deals with copyrights issues of artists’ art works. Interestingly, the attendees were also curious to know if Careof had selected any Albanian artist to become part of their archive. 

To conclude the talk, the speakers screened one video from the Careof archive which was the following: “I cani lenti”( “Slow dogs”, 1971) from the Italian artist Franco Vaccari.

Bashkëbisedim me Marta Bianchi dhe Martina Angelotti (nga Careof Milano) / në HARABEL Contemporary Art / më 20 Prill 2018

Në HARABEL Contemporary Art u zhvillua ditën e premte, më 20 prill 2018, një bashkëbisedim i hapur për artistë, kuratorë dhe studiues të artit, ku në qendër ishte diskutimi rreth qëllimit dhe vlerës së krijimit të një arkivi dixhital dhe fizik të artit bashkëkohor.

Përgjatë këtij takimi, Marta Bianchi dhe Martina Angelotti, përkatësisht në cilësinë e Presidentes dhe Drejtores Artistike të Careof-it në Milano, bënë të njohur për pjesëmarrësit veprimtarinë e Careof-it, një platformë e artit bashkëkohor në Itali, krijuar që prej vitit 1987 nga Mario Gorni.

Careof-i përfshin në arkivin e vet dixhital dhe fizik imazhe të veprave të ndryshme (fotografi, video) të artistëve që kanë jetuar dhe krijuar në Itali, si dhe një librari jo vetëm fizike, por edhe *online*, e cila përmban libra e dokumentime të ndryshme të punës artistike të artistëve të ndryshëm italianë, si dhe atyre të cilat kanë punuar me apo për Italinë.

Në përngjasim me të, do të mbarëveprojë edhe platforma HARABEL në njërin komponent të saj, atë të krijimit të arkivës së artit bashkëkohor shqiptar. Pra, një arkiv dixhital, i cili synon pasqyrimin e artit pamor bashkëkohor në Shqipëri (nisur prej vitit 1991 e në vijim), por edhe krijimet e atyre artistëve të huaj të cilët kanë krijuar gjatë qëndrimit të tyre në Shqipëri.

Nga vetë emërtesa, arkiv, kjo platformë përbën një pikënisje, një hallkë që do të luajë rol dokumentues, në shërbim të historisë së artit bashkëkohor pamor shqiptar, si një nxitje për ruajtjen e kujtesës kolektive.

Marta Bianchi dhe Martina Angelotti, në prezantimin e tyre shpjeguan se si dhe pse lindi Careof-i në Itali; paraqitën konfigurimin konkret të arkivit, pra mënyrën se si shfaqet vizualisht; si mund të përdoret një arkiv i kësaj natyre jo vetëm nga studiuesit, studentët e artit, por edhe nga admiruesit e artit.

Disa nga pikat me interes për artistët pjesëmarrës në bashkëbisedim ishin: mënyrat e përzgjedhjes së autorëve dhe krijimeve përkatëse në arkiv; të drejtat e përdorimit të krijimeve, si edhe nëse kishte autorë shqiptarë të përzgjedhur në arkivin Careof.

Në përmbyllje të bashkëbisedimit, me qëllim ilustrimi, u shfaq videoja e vitit 1971 me titull “I cani lenti” (“Qentë e ngadaltë”) nga artisti i mirënjohur italian Franco Vaccari.
