Rubin Mandija (b,1977) in Shkodër, Albania. He lives and works in Shkodër. He graduated from the Academy of Arts in Tirana in 2000 in sculpture. In 2018 he earned his Phd. from the Academy of Albanology Studies in Tirana. Betwwen 2002-2012, he tought at the artistic lyceum “Prenkë Jakova” in Shkodër.
Currently he is a lecturer at the Art Department at the “Luigj Gurakuqi” University. He has exhibited at local, national and international events.

Statement
“My artistic mediums encompass sculpture-installation, photography and drawing. The concern of my work have constantly been the “self” and the “territory”. Recently I have refound drawing as a return toward this primordial medium of visual activity. The latest series consists of drawings made by black pencil on black paper! The image is rendered visible by the reflective properties of the graphite, thus resulting in a literally “reflective” work”.
