Alush Shima (b. 1942) in Tirana, Albania. He finished his studies at the artistic lyceum “Jordan Misja” and graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana .
During Albania’s communist regime he painted in secret against the political system for almost two decades. Only a small part of his work appeared in public after 1990, in an exhibition that took place at the National Gallery of Arts, Albania. He worked as a set painter in Albania’s only film studio, Kinostudio. From 1994 – 1998 he was the director of the National Gallery of Arts. In 2012 he was awarded as “Great Master” by the President of Albania. He is working as a painter and his work are exhibited in many museums and galleries.
